FACE IMPLANTS (chin and cheekbone) |

Implants are generally inserted through an incision inside the mouth
(gingival groove).
Implants can be made of compact silicone (semi-soft) or hydroxyapatite (stiff).
Complications: infection, haematoma, alterations of skin sensitivity, asymmetry.
How long does surgery take?: 30/60 minutes
Anaesthesia: sedation or general
Hospitalization: day hospital
Post-op: antibiotic and anti-inflammatory therapy for 6 days, ice pack for 12 hours
Time off work 5 days and off sports 4 weeks.
