The only limitation is that the results only last for about 4 to 5 months.

It is an extremely purified and safe drug (if used by competent surgeons) obtained from Clostridium Botulinum. This A-type neurotoxin temporarily paralyses the nerves of the facial muscles that cause expression wrinkles and smoothens the overlying skin.   It is very important not to paralyse all the muscles that are involved completely to get an ideal aesthetic result, in order to avoid an inexpressive face.

This treatment is not indicated in patients with myasthenia gravis (Erb-Goldflam symptom complex/Eaton Lambert syndrome), with diseases of the neuromuscular system and during pregnancy.

Botulin has been used for decades to block armpit sweating (axillary hyperhidrosis), to treat blepharospasm, in facial dystonias (involuntary contraction of facial muscles), in torticollis spastica and in contractions in the case of cerebral palsy.

It can be used following blepharoplasty or other procedures aimed at making a face look younger to perfect the results.

Complications: hyper-function of adjoining muscles (temporary), eyebrow droop (temporary), mild bruising at the site of injection, temporary reddening of the skin (12 hours max.), brief headache (24 hours)

How long does surgery take?:15 minutes; the effects can be seen starting from day 5

Post-op: avoid sauna, gym, face massage for 12 days.
